I have had a long career in the creative industry and managed to survive so staying power is not in question. I have experience in a variety of roles with Creative Design, Illustration, Artwork, Client Liaison and Photography being the most prominent. There is hardly any aspect of the creative business that I haven’t been involved in over the years involving branding, packaging, audiovisual, illustration and photography. One moment I can be involved in producing an award wining audio visual presentation combining the world of business with formula 1 and the next creating a New World wine label.
Professional Background
Throughout my career I have been fortunate enough to work in some outstanding studios including those of Fitch, Wolff Olins and Springetts but many less well-known studios too, producing work in various specialist areas so this broad selection of large and small famous and not so famous has given me a unique outlook on the design industry in general and how to survive and succeed within it. This eclectic background has instilled in me, flexibility, broad knowledge, an understanding of the production process, organisation and perhaps most importantly balancing creativity with that ever important deadline. Recently I have returned to my roots as an artist researching and producing accurate aviation subjects like the Westland Whirlwind where I have become almost an historical expert on every aspect of this little known aircraft. As a result you will see here many classic aircraft illustrations and digital paintings I produce.
I am proficient in the use of most industry standard software including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, Indesign and Xpress. Additional skills include writing, be it copy for a web site or more specialist creative writing and research. Interests are also diverse but historical, aviation, photography and technology are usually at the forefront when I am not spending time in the countryside, and sometimes when I am.
